Portraiture is the art and "magic" of capturing the
essence of a person (or people) in a single exposure. I
specialize in natural lighting--that is, using daytime
and evening light as the primary source of illumination,
with a flash filling in and softening the shadows.
However, as you can see here, I have also worked hard to
master the techniques of catching a personality's
character even in the dark of night. By using a long
exposure and a flashlight to "paint" in the subjects, I
can create a soft, evocative rendering of our Friends and
Lovers.
