UNITED STATES SUBMARINES THE SILENT SERVICE
Due to the security concerns around our subs, the only sub photos posted here are official U.S. Navy photos I have shot and that have been reviewed and released to the general media by a Public Affairs Officer of U.S. Naval Forces. If you want to research more photos of subs that are "open source" and available to the public, link over to the Navy News Stand at www.news.navy.mil.

Submarines are one of the most versatile and fearsome weapons in the U.S. arsenal. They give the President the ability to bluff; who's to say there aren't 20 subs off a hostile shore ready to launch cruise missles, mine the harbor, sink escaping ships, and insert Special Forces? The Silent Service, along with the U.S. Navy's carrier fleet, provide a blue water and a littoral striking power unmatched in the world.
